Centre Allots Rs 608 Cr For Disaster Relief To AP

Amaravati: The High-Level Committee under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah has approved Rs1554.99 crore of additional Central assistance under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) to five States affected by flood, flash flood, landslides, cyclonic storm during 2024-25
Out of total allocation, Andhra Pradesh will be getting the highest allocation of Rs608 crore followed by Rs170.99 crore to Nagaland, Rs255.24 crore to Odisha, Rs231.75 crore to Telangana and Rs288.99 crore to Triupura.
The grant was made subject to an adjustment of 60 per cent of the opening balance for the year available in the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said on X thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for sanctioning Rs608 crore to Andhra Pradesh. The Centre said that during urrent fiscal, the Union Government released Rs18,322 crore to 27 States in SDRF and Rs4,800 crore from NDRF to 18 States.
